School Advisory Council

Goal

To give children the spirit of wisdom, the light of God’s love, and the insight to know and follow him.

Our Lady of the Prairie is a Catholic School in Minnesota dedicated to the intellectual, spiritual, moral, physical and academic formation of children from kindergarten to sixth grade, according to the principles of Catholic faith and the finest educational standards.

Our council members

Rosemary Kolden: My husband and I have been members of OLP since 2002. We have two children, Ella is 2 years old and William is 1. Together we own and operate Kolden Funeral Home and are active in the Belle Plaine community. I attended Catholic school growing up and look forward to having my children attend OLP. In my spare time I enjoy gardening and being outdoors.

Joe Vandermark: My wife Karen and I have been members of OLP since 2005. We have three children- one studying at Mankato State and twin boys that attend OLP. We are very active members of the OLP community and participating on school advisory council is another way to make a difference. I am a life-long learner and think our students should be challenged to continuously better themselves and those around them. I believe that our students should be provided a high quality education as well as religious and moral formation. Catholic education is an awesome way to form our children into faithful, intelligent, and loving servants of God and the Cchurch. I am grateful that I have an opportunity to develop the school policies and provide the support for all of our students.
